Heat pumps - How it works

Heat pumps take low grade heat from the environment and transfer it to your hot water system. For every kilowatt the system users you get 4 to 5 kilowatt of heat. Cutting your heating bills to 20%

Heating your home with free environmental heat using 1 kilowatt for every 5 you get.

Ground loop collector is a loop of pipe laid horizontally in a trench your garden or under your patio or driveway. Typically you can collect 1 kilowatt for every 10 meters of trench. A typical house needs 8 kilowatts for heating and hot water so that is 80 meters or trench.

Ground loops can be installed vertically in a bore hole. A 80 meter bore hole drilled straight down in your front or back garden will provide the same amount of heat.
